Homeworthy Tour: My Cozy Connecticut Home

When Homeworthy reached out about filming a tour of our home, I’ll be honest – I hesitated. You’ve been asking for a full home tour for so long, and I love sharing bits and pieces here and there, but letting someone in to see your real space is different. It’s one thing to share bits and pieces on social media, where you can tidy up a corner or frame out the chaos, but it’s another to open your door fully.

That being said, I trust Alison and Homeworthy’s vision with my whole heart and love sharing all the little details that make our house feel like home, so after a little thought, I knew my answer had to be yes. So without further ado, here’s my Cozy Connecticut Home, courtesy of Homeworthy!

The tour covers so many areas of our house that hold stories and buckets of care, but there are a few spaces I think you’ll find particularly interesting – the ones that were the hardest to design, the most personal, or the ones where I spend the most time.

Let’s start in the kitchen 👩🏼‍🍳

No surprise there, right? It’s where I spend most of my time, and it’s probably where you’d find me right now if you stopped by. The kitchen layout was one of the biggest decisions we made when designing this house. I wanted something that felt both functional and welcoming, a space that could handle everything from a quiet weeknight dinner to the chaos of a holiday gathering. We went with soft sage green cabinets, which might be my favorite design choice in the whole house. They’re calming, but they still have enough personality to stand out. The color almost acts like a neutral, which makes it easy to layer in other elements like wood tones and brass hardware.

Then there’s the pantry. Oh, the pantry. It’s my happy place, but it took so much trial and error to get it just right. I’m not the kind of person who can thrive in chaos, so having a place for everything – and everything in its place – was a must. We added deep shelves for bulkier items and pull-out bins for things like onions and potatoes. There’s also a section dedicated to all my baking supplies. It might not seem like a big deal, but having that organization makes such a difference when you’re in the middle of recipe testing or pulling together a last-minute meal.

was one of those spaces where I wanted to strike a balance between cozy and intentional. I didn’t want it to feel too formal, but I also didn’t want it to look like an afterthought. We went with a mix of materials: wood, linen, and some softer textures to keep it approachable. The mismatched chairs are a little unconventional, but they feel like us. There’s a story behind each one, and I love how they’ve come together to create this collected look. It’s funny because this room gets used for so much more than meals. It’s where we play board games, work on puzzles, and occasionally spread out big projects. I’m glad it’s a space that feels so versatile.

The living room, the most lived-in space of all…

This room was all about comfort. I wanted it to be the kind of place where you can sink into the couch with a good book or gather with family for a movie night. The sectional we chose is oversized and so soft that it practically begs you to stay a while. We kept the color palette neutral but layered in different textures to keep it from feeling flat. There’s a mix of cozy throws, patterned pillows, and a big area rug that ties it all together. And the art on the walls? Most of it is from local artists or places we’ve traveled to, little reminders of the people and places we love. I share all the details in the video!

A House Is More Than Walls & Furniture

One of the most surprising things about filming the Homeworthy tour was how reflective the process felt. Walking through each room and talking about the choices we made reminded me of all the thought and care that went into making this house a home. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget how much love is in the details. Whether it’s the color of the cabinets, the height of a shelf, or the pattern on a throw pillow, these choices tell a story. They’re a reflection of the people who live here.

If you’re curious to see more, like where we store all the cookware or how I finally made peace with open shelving, you can catch the full tour over at Homeworthy.com. It’s a fun peek into the spaces that make up our daily lives, and I hope it inspires you to look at your own home in a new way. After all, a house is so much more than walls and furniture. It’s the little things, the quirks, the imperfections, the memories, that make it yours.

Love you, mean it.
